I made these mixes a few months ago, using the Troy/Gabriella version (I hate the Sharpay version). I recreated the instrumental from LeAnn Rimes 'You Are (Lenny Bertoldo Extended Club Mix)' for these mixes because the song worked well over the LeAnn mix but I didn't have the proper instrumental to work with.

Yep; filtered acappella. :) I added the echo to the vocals because a) they sounded cool and b) to cover up extra noise from the original that wasn't completely gone.
